National Center for Trauma-Informed Care and Alternatives to Seclusion and Restraint (NCTIC)

The National Center for Trauma-Informed Care & Alternatives to Seclusion and Restraint (NCTIC) offers consultation and technical assistance to a variety of behavioral health service systems to help them eliminate the use of seclusion, restraints, and other coercive practices, and adopt trauma-informed approaches to care. Most people seeking care for behavioral health issues have histories of trauma-inducing experiences, and NCTIC helps providers recognize their patients’ traumatic experiences and minimize the potential for re-traumatization.
